In 2020, Sirio launched intelligent manufacturing transformation projects across its various factory sites. To align with the group's development strategy, the Smart Logistics Department formulated a three-step plan for the advancement of enterprise smart logistics: first, achieving automation in warehousing and logistics; second, realizing unmanned distribution logistics; and third, implementing intelligent logistics in production workshops, thereby creating a full-scenario, end-to-end smart logistics ecosystem. Among these initiatives, the Sirio Ma'anshan Intelligent Factory project became a crucial component of the enterprise strategy. The Ma'anshan Industrial Park, Sirio's largest production base covering 350 acres and encompassing two of the company's core production formulations, was developed into a modern smart logistics center in collaboration with Vstrong.
During the first phase of the project, the factory deployed an automated storage and retrieval system (with 23,000 pallet positions), two goods-to-person picking systems, automated palletizing at the receiving end, and automated depalletizing at the shipping end. For distribution logistics, 26 automated guided vehicles (AGVs) were introduced for material handling between the automated warehouse and various production workshops. In production logistics, the project implemented robotic palletizing equipment and systems for two major workshops, along with over a kilometer of overhead conveyor systems, 24 box elevators, and six four-axis robotic arms. This comprehensive setup enabled fully unmanned operations—from packaging lines to elevators, overhead conveyors, robotic palletizing, AGV-based parcel handling, automated transfer, and finally, automated storage in the central automated warehouse.
